Finished in Don Julio Añejo tequila barrels. Dense threads of aromatic herbal smoke pay homage to the ancient art of tattoos, clouds that slowly disperse in whispers of history. The sweet scent of ripe plum, like black ink and smoke etch an outline of illustrious past generations ascending to legendary heights. Inspired by the spirit of intensity and pride that shines through Lagavulin's more than 200-year history, our Malt Master explores the celebrated symbols of the ancient Mesoamerican art of tattooing, rich in history and meaning. The whisky, finished in Don Julio Añejo tequila barrels, pulsates with ancient and modern herbaceous flavours, imprinting an indelible history. Among insensate golden reflections, fresh notes of sea breeze, citrus and ripe berries mix with an intense and herbaceous smoke in an enchanted vortex of inebriating aromas, while the creamy soft and robust texture plays perfectly on a canvas with a rich range of flavors. Sweet, plum and a salty touch, then even more herbaceous and smoky, the flavors are deeply imprinted for a legendary whiskey

Description

A vigorous example of the brand, focusing on robust and elemental flavours. Lovers of Smoked Whiskey will love it. To a Lagavulin at its strongest, delicious to drink and full of the character of the distillery, the last barrel of Tequila brought indelible lively overlays between vegetal, smoke and black plum.

Appearance: Bright.

Nose: Immediately the impact is sweetly more medicinal than peaty, hinting at disinfectant soap that soon mixes with aromatic wood smoke from a beach bonfire. as the intense herbal smoke takes over, a savory note slips through, suggesting roasted pork. A drop of water reduces the intensity but adds more marine and fruity notes, making the peat more aromatic.

Body: Medium.

Palate: Naturally alcoholic, the robust texture is creamy, soft and full, while with its rich swirl of flavors the taste is initially sweet and citric, added by a good sprinkling of salt, which reveals notes of plum in a growing finish of smoke. With a dash of water, it's slightly sweeter and peatier.

Finish: Long, with a salty note and a very peaty finish, with a light hint of fleshiness and a persistent and refreshing smoke aftertaste. Dry, yet enveloping.
