Description

Popular Pharmacopoeia, from the Greek "the popular art of creating medicines", was born in a small town in the south

Salento and produces infusions and distillates in small batches following ancient craft techniques.

The main peculiarity of the company is the use of coca leaves.

WHY COCA?

Long before the Colombian drug lords, the coca plant held a mystical and healing role in ancient Peruvian society.

Considered as sacred and precious as gold and silver, the leaf of this shrub was used in religious ceremonies and as an energy source as it contains alkaloids which act as a stimulant, bringing physical strength and quenching the sensation of hunger and thirst.

For this reason, the company has decided to give, indeed restore, the right importance to this plant by including it in all its products.

Only the best leaves, after a careful selection directly in the plantations in South America, are transported to a Spanish laboratory where, under the supervision of the competent authorities, they are refined to eliminate the cocaine molecule contained inside, thus obtaining a completely natural and 100% legal which is then shipped to Italy to be added to all distillates.

For the production it makes use of the best Italian master distillers and aromatizers such as Priscilla Occhipinti, the only internationally recognized and multi-awarded Italian master distiller and Alfredo La Cava, distiller and master aromatier of the historic Maraschi company.

The choice of bottles is consistent with the pharmaceutical imprint that characterizes the company, in the same vein the labels were created with an original design by the Cremonese tattoo artist Linfa Cremisi.
