The distillation takes place in a bain-marie discontinuous copper alembic still. Once collected, each fresh herb is directly fed into a separate hydroalcoholic solution at 50 ° for 48 hours. Subsequently, each botany is pressed and each infusion obtained is distilled. Each botanical species is managed separately, distilled individually and then gradually assembled with the others. The distillation takes place in small batches to guarantee the best quality in each bottle. RIVO Gin has an alcohol volume of 43%.
The alcohol used is of cereals (wheat) and of course Italian. RIVO Gin has floral and fruity balsamic notes, accompanied by light hints of undergrowth. The flavor is complex but soft, full of fruity, spicy and herbal scents, with a long finish and characterized by botanical notes. Melissa, together with the thyme give the connotation of taste

RIVO Gin is distilled using 12 botanicals, which include rare ingredients collected by hand directly in the meadows around Lake Como. Ethno-botanical experts collect and certify the provenance of the herbs, so that the best ingredients are chosen and the required quality is guaranteed. You have to walk for many kilometers along the slopes of the mountains of Lake Como to get to the right place. Once there, you can start the search. It requires time and skill, but the joy of the harvest satisfies the effort. "Foraging" is the art of looking for botanicals directly in nature. Among the botanical species collected we have Thyme serpillo, Melissa, Santoreggia and Pimpinella and others, which together with Juniper, Coriander, Cardamom and Angelica constitute the bouquet of taste of RIVO Gin.
For centuries, local women have looked for herbs and flowers in the meadows around Lake Como to prepare medicines and remedies. History would call them witches. We consider them a pioneer of unique potions. And it is precisely the element of witches and the magic that inspired the packaging. Geometrical lines chase each other to create abstract figures, which in detail reflect two elements of the territory: the mountains and the waves of the lake. The idea was to create a design that recalled Italian craftsmanship, but at the same time was modern and capable of presenting itself internationally.
